You Make Me Better

Fabolous ft. Ne-Yo “You Make Me Better” (Christian edit by Kane):

I’m a movement by myself But we’re a force when we’re together Mami [or God], I’m good all by myself But baby [Jesus], you, you make me better

• You might be good on your own, but with Jesus, you’re much better. Jesus comes in and intrinsically fixes who you are. • What you do doesn’t define who you are. Who you are defines what you do. If you can connect with something great, then you can become something great.

John 15:1-10 MSG

“I am the Real Vine and my Father is the Farmer. He cuts off every branch of me that doesn’t bear grapes. And every branch that is grape-bearing he prunes back so it will bear even more. You are already pruned back by the message I have spoken. “Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me. “I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples. “I’ve loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. That’s what I’ve done—kept my Father’s commands and made myself at home in his love.

• Who you connect with and how you connect are the two most important things in your life: SPIRITUALLY & NATURALLY. • One person can love something and another can just think it’s okay – that’s because when you’re connected with something you can love it. Something inside of us desires connection.

C. S. Lewis (as paraphrased by Kane):

If you have cravings or desires for things not found on this earth, then it’s because you were designed for someplace else.

A FEW THINGS CHANGE (WHEN YOU FAILL IN LOVE WITH JESUS):1) You’re always at His house (CHURCH) • If you see a need in church — fix it. • When you operate outside of your gifting, it just means you have to work harder. It’s not an excuse to not do something.

Psalm 122:1 NKJV

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.”

2) Your friends change. • Change who influences you.

3) Your priorities change. • When the love of your life says, “Hey, let’s get out of here,” you follow.

You are connected to God because He’s your Father. • A father still loves his child no matter what the child does. • You are clean and pure in the eyes of your heavenly Father.
